Our mail isn’t delivered at the door, so the postman can’t knock twice, thrice or even once!
I love the exercise of walking the uphill block to the county road and the little rank of mailboxes visited by the USPS. Usually I make the climb to pick up mail sent to me.
Sometimes the trip is reversed. I am mailing something and can put the little red flag up so the mail angels know that there is a letter in the basket. I like that part best!
Yesterday, it snowed and we were pleasantly reminded of a SUPER, environmentally friendly gesture that our mail angels do for us.
We had a book in the mail. Too large for the box. Certain to get wet. Mail Angels to the rescue! We found the book safely tucked into a bright yellow, RECYCLED, plastic shopping bag. The bag and book were tucked between the boxes to further keep the snow at bay.
I write REMINDED because this isn’t the first time we’ve been blessed by the mail angels. In this country, they drive a million miles of back roads that are car killers on the good days. They do it faithfully and we LUV them.
