On March 17, I was honored to be part of a presentation team for a Lunch and Learn Meeting with members and guests of the Mansfield Area Chamber of Commerce. The other members of the team, Paul DelFino of Opportunity Inc and Paul Hambrick of Upper Cervical Docs joined me in presenting short programs about the business benefits of a well maintained Internet presence. The three of us, while operating independently on many projects and tasks are affiliated with Engrave-A-Crete, Inc. a manufacturing facility in Mansfield.
We were graciously covered by the Mansfield Mirror.
My part featured reasons to update and tasks that can help make your website more appealing to the search engines and visitors. It was an exhilarating and rewarding to say the least. Many, or even most of the points I could make were learned or emphasized by my connection with VAnetworking.com and the virtual assistants who are part of that influential virtual network.
Our presentation about Making Your Website Work covered points that we felt the audience could benefit from knowing and could apply to their websites. There were statistics that made one a believer in the Internet presence, tips on SEO without trying to make it confusing, plus items that could be accomplished easily without a website or in a couple hours even while waiting for web developers to actually update the site.internet-terms
We had fun with our audience with a pre-released Treasure Hunt to search for terms on local websites. Because this was to be a learning experience, we printed out the clues and answers for the attendees to enjoy and not feel they were being ‘tested’ about. Additionally, I enjoyed designing and producing a small tri-fold brochure with helpful internet terms to help our audience get through the jargon that we were trying not to use….but you know how that goes!
