Rapunzel! Rapunzel! Log On Because We Need You!

by JudyAnn on February 28, 2010

Rapunzel’s story fits that of many virtual assistants and other up and coming virtual professionals In the ‘old days’ and even now, there are highly skilled people who don’t live within a metro area, but who can deliver quality services as independent contractors.

Remote professionals were active before the Internet. I used the term professional with great thought. Even the people who fit the tag WAHM are serious and skilled. Businesses are darned fortunate to have this pool of people to work with.

Rapunzel’s face is changing with the economy. (Actually, the face has a beard and the name becomes Rapunzbert). Individuals with skills have experienced cutbacks. Businesses are beginning to ‘get the picture’ about the advantages of letting people work from a home office. Or, pardon me, the advantages of OUTSOURCING to some of those skilled professionals they had to let go.

The tower is no longer inaccessible. Rapunzel can simply LOG ON to escape. Escape isn’t the goal; CONNECTION is what we’re looking for. Connection that will let the business world turn. Rapunzel can do your bookkeeping, build your website, organize your office, set up a strategy for your social media program — just about any computer task that can be accomplished remotely. Rapunzel knows how to make that computer stand up and dance; she knows tools she can use to make your business hum. She knows tools that you can use from your end to make other tasks go smoother.

Working from that tower, she affects your bottom line in ways that you haven’t imagined. As a business owner, Rapunzel is a business owner like you are. Rapunzel respects the equipment because she owns it. She has a care for the supplies because she bought it. Your success is her success.

From the solitude of the tower, no one will know if Rapunzel is wearing the princess crown or if the long hair is brushed and braided. Appearance isn’t a major consideration, Rapunzel’s clients want to know they’re getting their tasks accomplished. LOG ON, Rapunzel. LOG ON in jammies if you have to, LOG ON when you’re traveling with your laptop if you need to. LOG ON and deliver from your tower; the world needs to know you.

Are you looking for a Tower resident? If you know your project’s plan, you can leave a request for a proposal at super networks such as Vanetworking.com or Vaclassroom.com.  If you aren’t sure about the plan, both resources run a roster of members.  The roster at VAclassroom.com is made up of virtual professionals who have studied one or more of the courses offered there, particularly focused on social media skills.
