Jeffrey Warner A Life Journey is a blog worth your attention. I won’t tell you that every post is one that I completely agree with or even endorse; A Life Journey is clearly the work of a professional journalist. I ‘met’ Jeffrey in a freelance writer’s group at LinkedIn. When he mentioned his experiences plus photography and writing regarding Bosnia TODAY , I was reminded that I (along with many others) hadn’t thought of the people of Bosnia, their suffering during the war nor what their present condition might be.
We’ve not had these folks on our media plate very much during the past 14 years, but don’t let the quiet convince you that they’ve healed. They have only survived. They are strong and they will heal, but they are not comfortable. Jeffrey writes of the infrastructure and cultural needs of a beautiful culture. His work is entitled Sarajevo Evolution — surely after so much destruction, the culture is moved back to the very beginnings and everything going forth will be a forward moving evolution.
Strangely, this part of the world was thriving under the plans of socialism. Now, when they so desperately have nothing and struggle for services and sustenance, the people wonder of the value that democracy offers.
Jeffrey is a sensitive journalist and photographer. He worked and volunteered in Bosnia after the war. Now he brings the story of the people in both words and the proverbial picture to the attention of the rest of the world. Looking for a publisher or publishing opportunity, Jeffrey has an excerpt of his work on his blog.
We may not be in a position to offer the publishing resource, but that only affects Jeffrey. Our memory needs to be stimulated to remember the people of Bosnia and what they’ve been through.
Sort of reminds me of the way we’ve been talking about being sure we don’t let people’s lives be filed away to gather dust. Especially the lives of people who suffered, who weren’t selfish criminals, who all lost too much to be forgotten. Bosnia, we wish for you more than ‘survive’; we wish for ‘Thrive!”

My gosh:
For some reason, I felt the urge today to search online for Sarajevo Evolution to see if my article pops up, and here is this amazing write-up that you did. It touched my heart.
Thank you.
Keep in touch?
Wow! I have Known Jeff for 20 years and the world is LUCKY to have somebody with his eyes and ears. He is an astute musician and artist in his own right; he was a little bit intense in his youth but was NEVER selfish or mean. I personally think he could be the ULTIMATE journalist (had he not became a guitarist) because he doesn’t have an attitude – even when I think he should have one concerning himself- he is the most even-handed objective fella I ever met. I had the honor of growing up with him. He takes shit and grows crops to feed people (figuratively speaking). His family has a WHOLE BUNCH to do with this- as they are some of the most honorable and talented folks I ever encountered. He had all the opportunities to grow up and be a capitalist yuppie shark destroyer; but Butch and Lois + Chris created something wonderful. I wish them ALL the BEST.
O.
I’m so happy that you like it. I have kept a copy on my desktop since you first sent it to me.
Hi JudyAnn:
Once again, thank you so much for writing this. I deem its content and your voice to be relative and an adding factor that adds a lot to the Bosnia situation.
I noticed you linked to my blog. I am no longer using this blog, and have transferred everything to http://jeffsjournalism.wordpress.com. Will you link to this. And/or more importantly, http://www.jeffsjournalism.com – particulary http://www.jeffsjournalism.com/bosnia.php.
I am going to link this page to my website and reverse link to your blog.
Thank you so much. See you back on LinkedIn soon.
Sincerely:
Jeff

May I get permission to use this on my Web site, and link it back to your blog?
I cannot do this with the current link to an old blog and these blog comments.
